We wish a most hearty congratulations on the 400th Prakash Purab of Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji! Lakh Lakh Vadhaiyian on this auspicious occasion to each and everyone!

How can one begin to praise and describe the immortal love and compassion for humanity that Guru Teg Bahadur Ji bestowed. From childhood he cared for the disadvantaged and even gave his own gowns to the poor. Later he became a warrior on the battlefield fighting to protect and serve, hence earned the name ‘Teg Bahadur’ Ji.

The Guru Ji’s 116 Gurbani shabads tell us to praise the Almighty with each breath. The Guru Ji’s life truly exemplifies the parallel of living in worldly detachment of the mind, yet selfless service to humanity without any ego and every breath empowered by Name of the Almighty.

Chetna hai to chet lai nis din mai prani |
Chin chin audh bihaath hai phoote ghatt jio pani |
If you are conscious, then be conscious of the Lord
night and day, O mortal.
Each and every moment, your life is passing away,
like water from a cracked pitcher.

In following the footsteps of the Guru’s wisdom, during this unprecedented pandemic, the Guru’s Sikhs and many charities continue to serve humanity with all kinds of langar including that of providing oxygen to those in need at this critical time in India. Dhan is Sis Gang Sahib Ji where Guru Teg Bahadur Ji made the ultimate sacrifice to save an entire community from extinction and to enable diversity and peaceful living.
