Guru Ramdas Ji Gurpurab – Programs to October 27 2019

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Sangat Ji,

This weekend we celebrate Prakash Purab of Shri Guru Ramdas Ji.  Known as Jethi Ji at birth, Guru Ramdas Ji lost his parents as a child and worked extremely hard each day to earn a small meal to eat.  When Jetha Ji came into the company of Guru Amar Das Ji, he became a devoted Sikh and served and accepted Guru’s orders without any complaints.  Thus Jetha Ji was blessed with the Guruship and became Guru Ramdas Ji.  Guru Ramdas Ji laid the foundation of the holy city of Amritsar,  which was formerly known as  Ramdaspur.  Today,  thousands of devotees and visitors pay respects at Darbar Sahib and enjoy meals free each day.
