Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
Sangat Ji,
We are pleased to announce that the government of Ontario has allowed places of worship to re-open within a limited capacity setting. By using safety measures and physical distancing at the gurdwara, we can participate in onsite diwans, plus protect each other, and engage safely with community members, once again.
Important Note: For the re-opening, additional changes and controls have been put in place at the gurdwara (70 Stevenson St. S).
Provided below is a list of changes, DOs and DO NOTs, so we can all keep safe! May Waheguru Bless All!
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Remember gurdwara is open 7 days a week so visits can be made at different times to minimize gatherings.
Changes Implemented
Capacity limited to 30 percent of building. Approximately 60 people at one time in the building.
Designated area outside of building is marked with red paint to stand at safe distance.
Plexiglass barriers have been installed at reception desk, parshaad table and langar table
One way traffic arrows marked inside building.
Spaces are marked off 2 metres apart in diwan hall and langar hall.
Washroom entry reduced to 2 persons at one time.
(Please follow these rules)
DO
DO keep physical distancing from others! Keep safe!
DO keep safe distance when sitting, standing, talking, and during langar service.
DO follow arrows marked to move inside and outside of building upon entry and exit.
DO wash hands with soap upon entry.
DO use sanitizer as needed.
DO bring your own ramaal or head covering. If use ramaal from gurdwara, put into laundry basket to be washed.
DO bring your own mask if you prefer to wear mask inside.
DO stay close with your family or those coming in same car.
DO consider sitting together as a family in marked spots instead of separating to opposite sides.
Do keep background noise to a minimum during live stream sessions.
DO NOT
Do NOT sit in unmarked areas, these are gaps for safe distance.
Do NOT crowd doors and entry ways.
Do NOT shake hands with others.
Do NOT hug others.
Do NOT unnecessarily touch surfaces
Do NOT visit gurdwara if you or family member is sick and showing any signs of cold, flu or other COVID related symptoms.
Note: Capacity controls will be enforced and maintained going forward. For example, if more sangat comes than capacity allows, then some members may have to wait in cars or outside until others leave.
As regulations and scenarios change, measures may be updated keeping safety and the protection of the sangat as a top priority. Your support is appreciated.
